Energetic Alignment: A Study of the Standing Postures

Saturday, 8:00am-10:00am

Join ashtanga teacher, Joanna Darlington, for this investigation into the power of the standing series.

This class will focus on the development of muscular awareness and energetic alignment for such essential asanas as trikonasana (triangle pose) and virabhadrasana (warrior pose). From the position of your feet, to the orientation of your pelvis you will learn to properly lengthen the legs, creating a stability and strength that will continue to inform your movements. The understanding of these positions is key in developing flexibility for the entirety of your practice and will give you information to explore throughout.

Backbending and the Opposing Forces 

Saturday, 11:00am-1:00pm

In this class we will enjoy a deep look into the fundamentals of backbending and the opposing forces. You will learn to build your backbend from the foundation up through a sampling of asanas from both the primary and second series of Ashtanga yoga. This is a fun and accessible class, suited for all levels.


Mysore Class and Pranayama

Sunday, 8:00am-10:45am

Enjoy this 2 hour mysore class followed by a 45 minute introduction to pranayama.


 Saturday: $30.00/session or $55.00 for both sessions
